It could be possible for someone to WAD Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition then use the Gamecube backups program, no? Then you'd have access to Majora's Mask.
paulb said
at 8:02 pm on Nov 18, 2009
I don't think you can make .wad files out of gamecube iso's buddy!
btw, majora's mask is already on the list
or get the collectors edition via ebay (i got it for $10)

Can anyone help me?
I downloaded a few PAL wads from this page. None of them can get installed (I get error ret =-1).
Meanwhile, other (non-N64) wads from this site install perfectly. Is there any patch I should install?
And yes, I have enough free space both on the Wii and the SD card.

@ fishfinger
not to be rude, but check VERY well where you are, as it might be a reason
PAL europe
NTSC-U USA
NTSC-J Japan
though i think i can assume you got that right.
then there is the option of your memory being full, which you deny already.
lastly, i think the patched or injected games only work when your wii is patched.

Thanks for replying, Claws.
Yes, I'm 100% sure that my Wii is PAL and so are the wads I tried installing.
It's funny you mention it, actually, because yesterday I tried to install an NTSC NES wad and it got installed. It showed a black screen after running it, but it got installed fine.
And no, I wasn't trying the injected or patched ones.
Anyone else has any other ideas?

What version of wad manager are you using?
I'm still using 1.2 and have never had any problems
FishFinger said

@paulb: You should show who you're referring to in your comment, just like I did just now. :D
I recently started using 1.5, but have been using 1.4 for a long time. The (N64) wads don't work with both.
Hmmm, maybe there is a homebrew program that would create a .txt file on the SD card which would contain all of the Wii's stats, e.g. modchip (if any), IOS, cIOS and all the other stuff. Then I could let you guys see mine and you'd see what's wrong with mine, or I could compare mine with one of an other person, on whose Wii the PAL N64 wads install fine.
So, does such a program exist?
paulb said
at 7:50 pm on Nov 29, 2009
@fishfinger is that better lol (was replying to cheesy but hey)
my bad i'm also using 1.4 just using a 1.2 forwarder and never had any problems installing n64 wads
there is a program that creates a .txt file listing what ios's cios's trucha bug blah blah and a sesame seed bun
i believe it also displays this when the prog has run.
but i can't remember the name of it (got it thru homebrew browser)
as soon as i can kick the little one off the kids channel i will see if i can find it for you (could be ios check or signcheck)

@paulb, yes signCheck is one possible option: http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Signcheck
paulb said
at 8:00 pm on Dec 12, 2009
@cheesy, I doubt it's the wad mate as i'm running it on my wii myself
other possibles could be...
have you tried the second link?
re-downloaded the wad again?
which browser are you using? (opera can be dodgy with certain download locations and cause file errors)
is your sd card 100% compatible? did you format it properly before use
and lastly, maybe you missed a step in modding your wii.
cheesy said
at 1:02 am on Dec 13, 2009
well for the last one i have modded my wii correclt trust me haha
my sd is compatiable
ive downloaded it twice
im using mozilla
and there wasnt a mirror wen i downloaded it i think
paulb said

have you tried un-installing with wad manager then re-installing?
could be a ticket issue
are you still getting the -1033 error?

I have one question, I'm looking for great games as DK 64 or Perfect Dark, u think it's possible to find them here in a nearly future?
paulb said
at 5:01 pm on Dec 20, 2009
perfect dark probably not as it's rare's property and about to be released on xbox live
dk64 you never know, you can run them on emulators but i don't think they work very well.
best bet for releases of these types is to check on sites like nintendolife as they have news coverage on vc releases
FishFinger said

Oh.
My.
God.
I found out the reason of my problem. Turns out, the N64 wads weren't wad filesat all! They were all zip files which Windows at that time has given "unrecognized file" icons.
I feel so stupid right now, though at the same time - happy.
