WiiWare

Page history last edited by Haruspex 13 years, 10 months ago

READ THIS INFO BEFORE DOING ANYTHING ELSE.

FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN BRICKING YOUR Wii.

WiiWare is distributed as wad files.  These can be installed using WAD Manager (place the .wad files in a folder called "wad" on the root of your card): Yet Another WAD Manager MOD

WAD Manager will not work unless you have an IOS available with the signature hash check (Trucha Bug).  You can learn how to make this available from the USB Loader guide.

Many WiiWare titles will require IOS 53, 55, and 56 to be installed.  You can use DOP-Mii to install/upgrade these (and DO NOT apply the signature hash check when prompted): DOP-Mii

If you are using System Menu 4.0 or 4.1 and want to transfer the WiiWare channels to your SD(HC) card, you will need to use DOP-Mii to re-install IOS 60 with the signature hash check (Trucha Bug).  Do this before installing the WAD files with WAD Manager.

If you are using System Menu 4.2  and want to transfer the WiiWare channels to your SD(HC) card, you will need to use DOP-Mii to re-install IOS 70 with the signature hash check (Trucha Bug).  Do this before installing the WAD files with WAD Manager.

If you are using Preloader or Priiloader and you 'dop' IOS50, IOS60, or IOS70, remember to reinstall Preloader after 'doping'; otherwise, you won't be able to load the System Menu. Instead, boot HBC through Preloader to reinstall it.

THE GAMES ARE NOW SEPARATED BY REGION

If, for some reason, you are unaware of which code your Wii is, open your "Wii Options" menu, select the "Settings" button and look in the top-right corner of your screen. Your firmware version will display as "Ver. #.#(Letter)" with the (Letter) corresponing to your Region.

J=NTSC-J, U=NTSC-U, E=PAL

{EXAMPLE: Ver. 4.1U would be NTSC-U}

Games should only be put in their proper region table.

If you download an NTSC-J game and patch it to PAL, it DOES NOT belong in the PAL table.

ALL REGION PATCHED GAMES GO IN THE OTHER TABLE NO MATTER WHAT REGION THEY ARE PATCHED TO.

Hey Blue.....
I think the whole scene has died mate 0_o
I don't think there have been any decent retail releases in the last 12 months either

But WiiWare seems to be just a bunch of kids learning games lately

I haven't done it in a long time, been having financial difficulties. I have updated the NTSCU section though. The PAL side... well something happened to my account which block/ hide the PAL folder so I can not add more files to it.

I can't find The Oregon Trail for Wiiware NOR its retail on the Wii! For such a simple game, it's very hard to find!
