Some versions are going to be impossible or difficult to get though, like IOS9 v516 & v518. Those are launch day, and first update. One of them was used by System Menu 1.0 (something else to locate...). Some of these also were special versions that came on Disc Updates only.

IOS9 v518 can probably be had from an early disc update, I'll have to check Pokemon Battle Revolution (it has 2.0). The only source of IOS58 is the Update Partition on Your Shape. IOS58 is used exclusively by that game. If you have (or want to DL) that game, you can get IOS58.

I need someone with a Korean console with 3.3 in order to get the IOS4x's. They'll have to hack it, then run WAD Creator. I'm in the USA, so I don't have such a console.

If you can help me locate System Menu 1.0, it'd be extremely helpful! I have searched with no luck on it. There are very few people if any with that menu anymore. Besides, the only way to get it is with an infectus. There is no way to install brew on a 1.0 console.

As for the boot2's,there never was an official wad release of v1 or v3, and WAD Creator can't dump it, so getting one means yanking it from a bootmii dump or an infectus.

In GBATemp is a person with a 1.0 SM that cant dump it. Why, i dont know

An infectus is required to dump the menu. They'd need to dump the NAND, then somehow run xyzzy so we can decrypt the thing (they could update to 2.x from something like Pokemon Battle Rev and do it with TP hack).

As for the GBATemper, are you by chance referring to happydance?

When I was working with him on the forum, we learned that the 1.0 menu does not take well to any modifications to the system. The wii kept deleting its SYSCONF and running firstboot wizard every time he installed anything with wad manager. He was trying to install an IOS36 so a brickblocked Brawl would work. Eventually, it just bricked with an Opera message on boot.

I have a guy on GBATemp who is going to (hopefully soon) send me a supposed "0.5" menu. It's likely a hack of 2.x or 3.x though (like the "1.0 Beta" seen in a Youtube video...). I'll believe it when the version # is less than 33...NOT.

Finally, just updated page: Added Region Select v2 for all regions, Digicam Channel for JAP, and IOS58 (finally got my hands on this one).

@battlechaser24: Triiforce does not use IOS56. All software running on triiforce runs through IOS249 since it provides the emulation. If the software does not run on triiforce, its because the game is just incompatible. Install it normally (to the real NAND, not the emulator) and it will work.

As for what version of IOS56, v5405 is fine. It's newer, and there is no reason not to use it.

@malleoiscreepy: Depends on how it bricked. If you are stuck in bootmii because you deleted it or installed v6400, yeah, installing v6174 will unbrick. If its preloader related, try reinstalling preloader...it often causes errors if you mess with IOS60 after installing it.

@haruspex: Added FreeTheBugged IOS60 and IOS70. They're untested though.

Do you have bootmii as boot2? If you don't, and all you get is a black screen, your wii is bricked and you need to call Nintendo.

Get the bootmii runtime files in this zip file: http://www.mediafire.com/?mmhjgnuvjmm Extract the "bootmii" folder in the zip file to the root of your SD card. Be sure bootmii.ini, ppcboot.elf, and armboot.bin are inside.

Put the SD in your wii and turn it on. Bootmii should start, then in a few seconds, HBC should load. If bootmii does not run, let me know.

Once you get into the HBC, run Wad Manager and install a wad of IOS60 v6174 and System Menu 4.1. DO NOT UNINSTALL ANYTHING. Quit Wad Manager, remove the SD Card, and restart the wii. If it still black screens after this, let me know.

How are the files placed on the SD card? There should be 3 files in the "SD:\Bootmii" folder (armboot.bin, ppcboot.elf, and bootmii.ini).

By "its not autobooting", i'm assuming you mean bootmii never runs. Try a different SD card. If it doesn't work, you may have bootmii as an IOS. If bootmii is only installed as an IOS, your wii is fully bricked and you need to call Nintendo.

SavemiiFrii is part of the system menu. Since the menu IOS is missing, it won't help.

@haruspex: Thanks for testing the IOS60. I was too lazy to go test it on (read: risk bricking) my wii :D I do have bootmii/boot2 though.

@malleoiscreepy...If you post over at GBATemp, you might get some responses, and there are 1 or 2 people who could likely restore a NAND dump (assuming you made one) with an infectus if you wanted to send it to them. If you don't have a dump, buy a new wii. The brick might be useful for the DVD drive, since your new wii will likely come with a D3-2 drive.

As for its current state, you can't fix it yourself. No bootmii/boot2 + missing menu IOS = full brick

@techboy, yep, made sure BootMii was operating normally before I took the risk, as you would only need to launch dop-IOS MOD from HBC via BootMii to fix the Wii if the IOS60 was bad.

I did all the steps listed but when I was updating my system 4.0 to 4.1 I ran into some issues. In the dop-IOS MOD when it asked me which IOS I wanted to use I had IOS36 in there and could not update so I tried IOS60 instead and once I had completed that now the Wii comes up OK, but I hear a motor noise and then none of my controllers work anymore. Any ideas what could have happened and how to fix it?

Does anyone know if and how it is possible to just install IOS35 back to my Wii (a newer Wii purchased in Dec. and running firmware 4.1) without messing up anything on the Wii? I believe it is having an issue because of initially trying to do the usb loader hack to it using different instructions. I have successfully followed the instructions here (and it works fine) but every time I run the SignCheck it seems to hang on IOS35 and I have to power off then back on again.

Use DOPIOS for patch and put OK the IOS 35 if you want, or wad manager (I´m spanish speaker)

Does anyone know what is included in the disc update for the game Just Dance? I soft modded a wii for a friend of mine and since the mod he went and bought a brand new copy of Just Dance. When he first tried to load it via the disc channel it gave him the 002 error, he had disbled the disc updates check with a preloader hack so on my instruction switched it to allow updates. He then performed an update using the disc. Then when he tried to run the game again still the 002 error. I have tried many things to get it working from the disc channel but with no joy. I can get the game to work using NeoGamma but that is not an ideal setup especially considering this is a retail disc. All I can think is that maybe my friend had installed cIOSCORP and when he did the disc update it somehow screwed up one of the IOS' needed for the game. I've looked on other forums for an answer to this dilema and found mainly rubbish like remove preloader or reinstall priiloader latest ver and enable region free discs. Also similar problems have been reported with new games like NSMBW and WiiFit Plus. Any info would be apreciated!

If it remember right, Just Dance has 3.4 on it. If he had to update from it, it was likely an outdated IOS or channel. If so much as a single title is older than the disc, you'll see the update message, even if it only wants to install a newer mii channel.

As for error 2:

If he has CORP, run the uninstaller package and try it again. Also, if you have startpatch or preloader, turn off all the hacks, since a few of them (most notably the "Force game discs to run under IOS249" hack) cause this.

Basically just run it, then put the just dance disc in. It will put all the wads from the update in the root of your SD. Put the SD in the PC and take a look at the wads for yourself.

Updated 2/2/10: Added Weather and News system wads, fixed broken link, updated info on a few title, added version # for v6 of News and Weather to listings, and removed "Under Construction" message.

i have some older games like Wii Sports and Red Steel and some other that i can get more from. And i also hacked my friends wii who's system was i belive launch day, but i dont know how to rip the original IOS's and SM's from it. Have those already. That's a standard 4.1 update.

Red Steel and Wii Sports have IOS9 v516 and Boot2 v2 on them, both of which I already have. Other launch-day titles such as Zelda Twilight Princess also have the same 2 files on them.

Also, there's a 99.9999% chance your friend's wii doesn't have SM 1.0 on it. It'd basically need to be unused since launch day. If it's ever been updated, it doesn't have 1.0 on it.

ah well ok then i tried. and those are 4.1? got it from a 4.2 disc but ok. i checked all of my other games and each dont have any of the missing IOS's. and my friends wii is on 4.2

System Menu v449 is 4.1U, so it's a 4.1 update.

Also, I'm working on a look-alike replica of SM 1.0...I'm basing it on pics from a launch day wii manual (which shows the 1.0 menu), Wiibrew, an old Nintendo press release, and Google Images. It's mostly finished. Only issues remaining are that I can't remove the SD functions and can't prevent channels from moving.

@MarlonHax: You can download it from NUS Downloader. Select Wii No Ma from the database, ensure that the "Version" box is empty (empty version means get latest version), select pack wad, and then start the download.

System menus 1.0 and 3.3k have been added. I don't have a mediafire account so if someone wants to repackage these files and then post those links that would be great.

So is it safe to downgrade to Wii menu 1.0 if you have bootmii as boot 2 and a nand backup? I've heard that 1.0 doesn't have SD support, so just wondering.

You can downgrade to 1.0 and you have bootmii installed as boot2. However, you can't use any exploits to upgrade because there is no SD card access.

Also, you should know that all channels (including HBC) will not show up and your message board will be corrupted.

If you want to mess around with 1.0, you should do the following:
-backup your nand with bootmii before downgrading
-downgrade/mess around with SM 1.0
-restore your nand backup to go back to your original SM

For a newer model wii (LU64 wiis that can only install bootmii IOS) you can only test SM1.0 with SNEEK.

I downgraded to Wii menu 1.0 and for some reason I had channels and my message board wasn't corrupted! The only channels I had were Disc, mii, photo, and blank shop, forecast, and news. Also, 1.0 seems to be unhackable without modifying the menu itself it seems the channels are "hardcoded" into the menu. Tried out Smashstack by using bootmii to get to hbc then Neogamma and reinstalled hbc 1.0.8. The result: it did not appear on the menu. So if you want to use homebrew on 1.0, you'll need bootmii as boot2 and hbc ahead of time.

@Ness-Ninten-Lucas: Thanks for this. Channels have major issues on 1.0. In my tests, none of the channels (a few forwarders, HBC, and the Mii Channel) I had installed appeared (had only a disc channel).

Like you said, bootmii/boot2 and HBC need to be there prior to downgrading if you wish to use them. Also, the message board won't go corrupt until you update again, and it doesn't always happen. When you reinstall 4.x you'll get a dialog on the following boot informing you of the condition.

An update was released yesterday...

Changes:
* Deployed latest Korean IOSes to non-Korean wiis to fix the (obsolete) TBR workaround. Use IOS236 installer instead...
* Updated several other (non-Korean) IOSes. The exact changes to the non-Korean IOSes are currently unknown.
* Updated shop to v20. It now uses IOS56 instead of IOS61.

HBC 1.0.7 and newer are NOT affected by the update.

Added some new information that comes from a 9/22 Hackmii post on prelaunch consoles.

We now know another SM, boot2v1, IOS9 v1, BC v0, and MIOS v0 exist.

9/7/10 update's IOSes are now online.

Added Shop Channel v20 and IOS80 v6944 (forgot to link it yesterday...).

Added v1 to the list for MIOS...apparently it shipped on launch-day wiis and original Korean 3.3 units...

I've gotten some titles from a launch-day wii, so I now have the entire set except for the Mii channel. MIOS (v1), BC (v1), and News/Weather/Photo channel (v0).

I've also recently obtained most of the RVT (development Wii) titles available (NDEV 1.19, Menu Uninstaller, Disc Check, NMenu, NWC24Editor, WMP Movie Tool, and a few others)...

I'll update the pages when I'm less busy :)

As you said, most of the comments are either help requests or spam, and page edits consist mostly of Matt6969 updating the Wiiware listing.

Good news is that download counts are healthy :) Most downloaded IOS is IOS249 v65280 (no clue why people want this). Most downloaded channel is Netflix with 5668 downloads.

Also, I got time to try out all those dev channels:
* NMenu is an official wad manager
* NWC24Editor is a tool for downloading files with WC24, sending/receiving Wiimail, changing your wii friend code, and editing the friend roster.
* WMP Movie Tool lets you mark the WM+ movie (that one that runs the first time you play a WM+ game) as watched or unwatched.
* Disc Check and Menu Uninstaller have been around for a while, and do as their names imply.

TBH I haven't touched the Wii in months myself anyway.
I keep it updated for the kids thou.

Be interesting to see where this goes when Wii-U comes along
