um.......no
They cannot detect you downloading on a pc
Unless you are referring to what you have installed on your wii
in which case that would show up if you opt in to the marketing surveys you have to for dsware)
Apart from that, these files are supplied for backup purposes only, if you read the front page
@mick: this is kinda elementary but the .rar files may not work for you cuz they're an archive and must be unpacked with a tool called winrar. type winrar in google and dl it. and if you already knew that, i'm sorry.
i been trying to install wads on my wii n it'll install but when i got to my wii home screen to click n play it it says.....THIS CHANNEL CANNOT BE PLAYED OR USED something like that.....Why is that happening?
@jerseyone
Sounds like you are trying to run out of region wiiware
You can use priiloader to de-regionalise your Wii channels
Or use wwPacker to region free the .WAD's
Hit the big Wii button on the bottom left of your menu
Then navigate to data management, channels
Highlight the game you want to move and select move
Then you just go to the SD icon on the main menu and
select the game you want to play
You also need to have the amount of blocks the game takes of NAND space
available to run the game as it copies it into temp memory
You can find this out by either looking at the tables here or
in your channels menu
@paulb i know that this is the way to copy and run properly games that i have downloaded from Wii Shop Channel but it doesnt work when i am trying to run games - wads installed with WAD Manager...i copy the channel to the SD Menu,i see it but when i try to run it i have a failed message.
@david: I'm guessing you mean VC/WiiWare. You install them using WAD Manager.
@Shadow GP: Sounds like an IOS problem. Use DOP-Mii to make sure your IOSs are up-to-date.
@Kaliosmaster: This is a Wiki rather than a forum, so I don't doing polls is really an option. :)
I'm not sure what you hope to accomplish with your suggested poll. If you're looking to get certain VC games released, you'd want to bring that up with Nintendo itself. Possibly start a poll on their forums. If you're looking to just see what everyone's favorite VC game is as of now, you might try starting a poll at GBATemp.net. That's the main forum in regards to GBA/DS/Wii hacking/homebrew discussion.
i think its about time that nintendo desided to make gb/gbc/gba vc or even updated the games for vc as it would be nice to play some games of them handhelds i know you can get emus to play the roms but i was just thinking it would be nice to get the pokemon and zelda gb/gbc/gba games on vc.
but that is just me i dont know how anyone else feels cos i do know they converted some ds games over to wiiware well there are 3 that i know of for def and might be more not sure.
I'm sorry guys, but there's no VC-Requests area. I'll make my request here:
I've tried and tried again to inject a Banjo Kazooie wad. Has anyone else had any luck with a Banjo Kazooie wad? If so, could you please link me to it? Thanks!
And VC requests can be made on the WiiWare requests page
But there are not really any VC uploaders here
Oh and no Banjo 1 & 2 do not work with injections as the specific hardware emulation required
is not present in the available VC games
Think of a VC title as being included in it's own little emulation package with just the necessary code to
run that game alone
oops, sorry
my bad Daniel I do apologize
But yeah your right, pretty much everything available is here
The only thing left is injections and tbh most games have already been attempted over at gbatemp
Now if there was a way to put elements of say snes9x into a .wad file to properly emulate a game
that would be an achievement :D
its fine, but the only thing left are the NTSC-J lists. and as of now im working on the super nintendo NTSC-J list. but your right that would be an achievment, but whe need someone like wainkoko or whatever his name is to develop it.
just a quick question. i was wondering if someone wanted me to make a guide about how to do something on the wii. just a thought. oh!!! wait a minute, i can make a guide about how to get all the songs on rockband 2. well just tell me what guide u want me to make and ill make it.
Hi i have a problem with some games (VC) sorry if it's not the place to ask for help but here it goes:
So my problem is that when i try to launch a virtual console game from master system or mega drive and some of virtual console arcade trough the sd card it gives an error (can't launch or something like that) but it works fine with wiiware, NES, SNES and N64.
My Wii is softmodded and it is in version 4.3E, all working fine except some virtual console games, oh and the games run well trough the Wii but not trough The SD.
Can you help?
How many spaces left do you have on the Wii? Allow at least 300-400 free space on the Wii. If the game's space is more than the Wii, it won't be able to play. I hope this helps! :)
Wily Wars is available in timewalkers folder http://www.mediafire.com/Timewalker
Megaman64 though is one of many N64 games that just don't work via injection.
Wii64 can be found here http://emulatemii.com/
Just follow the downloads link on the right hand side for the actual emulator.
There is also more detailed information on wiibrew about the app itself.
No. GBC files cannot be injected as they are not programmed to run on a Wii. EVER.
Also, he said to follow the downloads link. It's under Pages, third link. http://emulatemii.com/wordpress/?page_id=77
At present no GBC games cannot be injected into .wad files.
.wad is basically a folder containing both an emulator and game.
As no Game Boy Colour VC have been released yet, there is nothing to inject them into.
And everything you need to run the games via the second option is available on the page
but you need to post a reply on the site before the download links are provided
Can I make an injection request here? I'm wanting to play Mega Man Legends again, and the PSX -> PSP conversion is horrid. So could somebody inject and upload Mega Man 64? I'd greatly appreciate it. ^_^
Unfortunately not
Your going to have to either make do with the existing wiiware/vc titles
or go for an emulator
Wii64 would be the one your after for megaman 64
Bomberman Hero was released to PAL region on March 4 (march 7 for north america). I've already seen it in my shop channel. does anybody care about it?
also, how about Castlevania: Rondo of Blood? since it is closely connected to SotN, i figured it would get here pretty fast
@BlueLegion
I say that because they DO work on a PAL system.
You either need to use or make the .wad region free, or set your wii channels to system free via priiloader or similar.
Sing out if you need help getting them to work and I can point you in the right direction.
Region free .wad's are probably better for you, unless your comfortable with installing priiloader.
As with any mod, it does carry risks, but I haven't heard of anyone making a Wii brick in a long time.
When you say don't work, is it because of your TV not being able to run in 60htz or just the wads black screen?
My TV definately supports both 50hz and 60hz. It just said "This channel can not be used." Also, i did already try region-freed wads (found here, mostly) and region-freeing wads myself with no success in either
You may want to have a read of this article then. http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Priiloader
With this you can, amongst other things like boot straight to a USB loader, region free your Wii.
Make sure you have a NAND backup and BOOTMii, preferably installed as boot2, just in case something goes wrong during install.
There are, however, a few select NTSC games that do not work on PAL systems.
But this can be remedied with a modification of wwpacker which merely forces 60hz.
I have used this method myself for years now and haven't come across a title I couldn't get to work.
Questions On Wii Gamecube Homebrew Launcher .... Im Just Now Finding Out About This And Wonder If Its Safe To Put On The Wii Cuz Theres A Couple Of GC Games That I Used To Have That I Would Love To Have Back Without Havin To Play Them On The Computer ... Need An Answer ASAP Thanks
Are you talking about playing GC games or GC homebrew?
For GC games you can use the one on this page it's in the link on the sidebar under GC backup launcher and works fine as I have used it for years.
If it's GC homebrew, I can't see why not but haven't tried myself.
As with any modifications they carry risks though

its a USA dump that has been patched region free

Are you talking about playing GC games or GC homebrew?
For GC games you can use the one on this page it's in the link on the sidebar under GC backup launcher and works fine as I have used it for years.
If it's GC homebrew, I can't see why not but haven't tried myself.
As with any modifications they carry risks though
